At Harvest Glow, LLC, we want you to experience the maximum enjoyment and pleasure from our candles. We take great pride in making them using only the finest quality ingredients and materials. However, it’s very important that you burn candles responsibly to ensure their proper use and your safety. Please follow these guidelines.
Glass Containers and Travel Tins - Place on a protected, heat-resistant, dry surface, away from anything that can catch fire, and out of reach of children and pets.
- Keep wick trimmed to 1/4” at all times.
- If smoking occurs, extinguish candle. Trim wick, remove trimmings, and re-light.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, or any combustible material. Keep the wick centered.
- Avoid burning candles in drafty areas.
- Never leave burning candles unattended. Keep them within sight at all times.
- Keep all matches and lighters out of the reach of children.
- Teach everyone in the family the rules of safe candle use.
- Handle with care; glass containers are fragile and hot and tins get VERY hot. Do not use if the jar is cracked, chipped or scratched. Do not refill with wax.
- Do not allow the flame to touch the side of the jar or tin. The jar may become hot. Handle carefully.
- Burn until the melt pool (area of melted wax) reaches edge of the container for the most even burn.
- Discontinue use when ½” wax remains in container – it is not safe to let any type of wax melt completely down – heat from flame could break glass!
- Extinguish flame before replacing lid.
- Extinguish the flame with a wick extinguisher; blowing out the flame can cause smoking.
Soy Melts - We recommend using two cubes at a time; this is equal to approximately 1 ounce wax.
- Place melts in a well ventilated candlelit or electric potpourri or tart burner with a minimum 2 ½” top opening. Do NOT cover or add water. When melted, the wax will release its wonderful fragrance.
- To remove wax, let cool and harden. Gently tap the sides of the burner/warmer and in most cases the wax will pop out. You might also try placing the bowl (if it is a two piece) in the freezer for a few minutes – this will loosen the harden wax so you can pop it out. Discard the melted wax or store in a plastic bag for reuse.
- If using an electric candle/tart warmer, we recommend that you use one that is UL listed for safety assurance.
